Money for educational expenses for on or off campus work.
Federal Work-Study (FWS)
The Federal Work-Study program provides jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. This program encourages community service work and work related to your course of study. Your total FWS award depends on when you apply, your level of need and the funding level at CSU. If working, you will receive a bi-weekly paycheck. The amount you earn cannot exceed your total FWS award. You are not guaranteed a job if awarded FWS. The need for jobs may be higher than the number of jobs available.
Regular student assistant program
A limited number of part-time positions are available to students through various campus departments. Application should be made directly to the Career Center. Opportunities under this program are based on university work needs.
Listings of many part-time job opportunities (as well as full-time) are available in the Career Center. Often, employers who call the center regarding job openings are willing to allow a student flexibility to work around class schedules. Contact the Career Center for more information.
